For general Honor Harrington fannishness (including, but not limited to fanworks)
Question: Is there a fandom primer for Honorverse anywhere?
I haven't bumped into one on the primer comms I've been reading through.

Not that I'm aware of. I think the scope has probably overwhelmed everyone who's thought about doing it!
The only other place that there might be one is over on David Weber's own site, but absolutely no fan fiction is allowed over there.
(I know that I would struggle to write one, and that the easiest way to do it might be to start by splitting the 'verse up into time periods as the characters, locations and motivations do change over time.)
What is it you're looking for from a primer? Is it the explanations and synopsis part, or the locations of the various bits of fandom?
Definitely more the explanatory bits. I bump into fandom, but still don't know who/what they're talking about more than half the time. Reading through the wiki is so subject instead of story/overview based that I still get lost.
nods In the meantime, you're very welcome to ask questions here - it'll give me an idea of what might need to be included in a primer. 10 books takes you up to War of Honor, right?
I think so. I'll try and formulate some intelligent questions.
I don't know of any, unfortunately. I thought the Honorverse wiki might have something primer-like, but they don't seem to, which is a shame. The wiki is very helpful for keeping track of characters' names, but it's kind of a lot of information to dump on someone who's new to the books.
Thanks for checking it! I've read 10 books and still feel lost entering fandom.
