Criminal Minds: True Night
I've been marathoning Criminal Minds the past week. I stopped watching the series during its original run because it was too grim for me at the time, and then I was disappointed that Mandy Patinkin left. Anyhoo... even if you don't watch the series, episode 3x10 "True Night" really worked for me on all levels. It's a great exploration of the horror of a broken mind, terribly gory without showing the gore. It works fine as a standalone if you don't want to explore the series. Check it out on Netflix if you can.

I love that episode! It's one of my favorites. I feel awful for poor Malcolm. It reminded me of that Jodie Foster movie, The Brave One. It was shot well, and yeah, brutal. He was definitely one of the more sympathetic unsubs.
