Community disappeared from subscriber list
A community I've been subscribed to and commented to stopped showing up in my communities list in the last few days. When visiting the community, I don't see a Join button but at the same time when I attempt to draft a post for it, it doesn't come up in the dropdown menu. This is a community with open posting, and I'm not having this problem with other communities. Is this a bug?
Edited to Add: I've heard back from the community mod and they assure me I was not banned, and also don't know why this would have happened.

I hate to suggest this, but... maybe they banned you? 🙁
That occurred to me but I'd be pretty surprised given the few interactions I've had. More importantly, if someone is banned, wouldn't they receive some sort of notification? Otherwise a lot of people would start wondering why they don't see a community appear or why something that was functioning isn't.
You do receive notifications if you're banned. :)
I think @weffey cleared the server-side pipes out, can you reload your page and tell me if it's showing up now?
Quickedit: oops, that was a different user. Can you hit the "chat with us" button and let me know what the name of the community is that you're missing, if you don't want to mention it in this thread?
Hi greenie, I've tried the chat link but nothing's happening when I do (although all the other links in the dropdown do work).
I should also mention that I just made a comment in the community (which is /marvel_fans ), so whatever the issue is, it seems very piecemeal.
I've also reloaded various pages. I'll try logging out and back in and see if that changes anything.
for the chat link not working, do you have Ghostery or NoScript or whatever running? Those can block the chat, which is called
intercom.ioAh, yes I do have NoScript running. Thanks for the tip, I'll whitelist that. Usually I'll get an error message if something is blocked but in this case I couldn't even open the link in a new tab so it seemed completely dead.
Ah yep glad it's working now!
Ok, logging out and in seems to have resolved it. I now see the community in my list again, its last few posts are showing up in my Home feed, and a "new post" attempt has the community in the dropdown.
Although I've tried the "Chat With Us" link again and that's still not functioning for me.
Possibly try posting from their main home menu, if those are there. Alternatively try messaging the leaders to check if they have banned you or not.
Yes, the menus are there, it's just when I open up the form it doesn't recognize where I am.
And yes, I was planning to message them but I wanted to check first to see if it wasn't some sort of technical glitch or find out more about how the ban process works. (I haven't had any reason to do so with my own communities).
If you go to that community is there any grey banner indicating it is a "restricted" community? It's possible they are only allowing leaders or approved posters to create posts. It should still be open for comments though if that is the case.
No, there isn't, it's a community open to posts. If that's changed there's been no post to indicate that and nothing in their About or Rules section mentions it.
Yeah even if they had changed it and neglected to tell members it would show as a banner regardless. Hmm.
I would certainly try messaging the community leaders first to see if they are aware of something, but if that fails to produce a result perhaps the "chat with us" function for Imzy staff might be appropriate? Good luck.
Thanks!
Hey saw your update that the community leader got back to you. Hopefully the imzy staff can figure out what the heck is happening for you. :)
The oddness continues. I've clicked several times on the "Chat With Us" link and nothing happens. I've also had a few posts from the community show up in my feed in the last hour but it still doesn't show up as one of "My communities. "
Hmmm hey @greenie I saw you were online any help for @yourlibrarian apparently chat with us isn't working right.
