Community Tags don't work from Settings
After realizing that I had filled out the Community Tags box wrong, I went back to my saved community to edit the contents, however, all I can do is delete tags. I can't add new ones. If I type and hit , nothing happens, and if I save without the text having been turned into a tag bubble, it doesn't save.

Are you using a common to end the tag?
yep. It just types a comma.
Curious as I can't see your screen just asking simple questions so please don't be offended :) - So you if go to the setting page to add new community tags and click in the box. Do you get a list of preferred tags drop down?
Also try hitting F5 when on the page to refresh the screen. May do nothing, or may help release something that might be cached.
If I go to settings and then click in the box, I get a dropdown of all the Discover More categories.
So I can easily delete the ones that should be post tags, but there are other things I should add, like "Black Sails" and "pirates" that should be community tags, but I can't.
Community Tags even if added here wouldn't be added to the filter list under the Community Browser. This list of Community Tags is limited to help filter your community based of Type really.
Example go to the Community Browser, and change the interest to Animals. This is what a Community Tag is... Even by adding "Black Sails" you are not going to see this added to the Interest drop down on the community browser page.
I would think of the Community Tags you are selecting as "Interest" more so than community tags.
You are selecting which interest you community lines up to best so people can find you when filtering the search by interest.
Also you are correct I believe they stopped allowing people to add Community Tags that were not predefined as it was really pointless and offered no benefit for helping people find a community.
Then it shouldn't be an open box into which you can type anything, and I still call that a bug.
Of course. Keep posting as you go through looking into things.
I forget about the things like this after using the site for so long :). Thank you.
:)
We use the secondary tags (the ones that don't auto complete) for suggesting communities to subscribe to.
Thanks Weffey, so question tho I tested and can no longer add tags other than the primary ones either. Intended or you still allowing secondary tags as well?
It should be allowed. We might have accidentally broke it when we had to lock down tags due to abuse.
