Official announcements and happiness!
Just lost a 1,000-word blog post! *cries*
It wasn't a good one, but I liked it. ;)
Here's what happened. I was on the text post creation page, all was going nicely. And then a notification popped up in the bottom left corner of my (Chrome, Mac) browser window, so I tried to open it in a new tab. This did not work somehow, probably user error? It opened the Notifications page in the current tab, navigating me out of the New Post page, and when I clicked the browser's back button, my post was gone. It hadn't saved a draft, and Lazarus (extension that saves form contents for cases like this) appears not to work with Imzy forms.
I then experimentally wrote a test post and clicked "Save Draft" instead, and it navigated me away from that edit page. This makes periodically manually saving long blog posts impractical.
So I guess the solutions I'm imagining are a "save draft and continue editing" button, and/or autosaving drafts? But if others have better solutions I'm open to it. :)

Eep that sucks I'm sorry! I think there are probably some things we could do to make draft saving better, I'll talk to the front-end folks about this when I get a chance and see what is possible.
I know we serve a "are you sure you want to navigate away??" popup sometimes but not always, so I think I probably need to learn more about the different conditions.
Thanks, I look forward to finding out what happens next. :)
Yay I would love this as a feature.
I see those on comments when navigating away, but not on posts. It'd be nice to have them on posts.
Autosaving drafts periodically (and on window close events) would be great!
Is there any reason the site needs to be designed not to work with Lazarus? Because I don't need Lazarus much, but when I do, it saves the day.
Something similar happened to me just yesterday, but even worse, I HAD clicked on "save draft" before closing it... and it ddn't save it! I have no idea what happened there :/
While you’re looking at the code for drafts, it seems that it’s not possible to finish a draft and then schedule it for later posting. For those of us queuing posts to appear gradually over a week, it would be nice to be able to do so.
Autosave would be fantastic, as would an 'undo last thing you did' facility. I have both a hamster and a cat who have a frustrating fascination with my keyboard and the number of times I have either lost an entire post or comment, or had one altered past saving is ridiculous. I've given up entirely on some of them.
