Portrait vs Landscape?
Recently I've changed my desktop setup to have my monitors vertical, and view them in portrait instead of Landscape. I've noticed that I love it since I'm on Imzy so much, and it really works well with the site setup.
Anyone done this or tired it? Thoughts on it?
The orginal intent of doing this was to help with some of my Coding I was doing.

I never considered that! Does vertical orientation negatively affect any other sites you use?
As of late I've mostly been coding, on discord, on Imzy, or playing games. My games would be impacted but I actually prefer portrait when playing so always change my Resolution anyways.
So short answer, no - not so far for me. It did take a few minutes to get used too as I just wasn't used to the longer view, but after a few hours now I'm really liking it more and more.
Do you have wall mounted monitors?
Nope and at home it's about the same setup.
Cool! Thanks for posting the photo.
Np, just doing things to test the iOS App as well. Nothing special on my desk. I'm a little OCD, and normally work in a standing position.
Is that a leg sticking out for your desk phone? 🤔
Its a mini Irish hurling bat from Ireland. :)
I have two monitors: the one right in front of me is landscape, the other is a bit to the right and that is portrait. This has worked well for me for years.
That's what I was trying to do here at my house, but sadly now I have to get another mount...
This setup is at work and I didn't have to do it. At home I just use a laptop for the most part on my lap, shockingly. ;-)
haha ya see I'm not good with laptops... I like sitting at a desk when working... although now that I'm trying to code a little more may look into getting one for the road and stuff. That is besides my work one.
Interesting! I often use tablets on vertical setting
I turn my single monitor to portrait mode for Pinball FX and occasionally when I'm touching up literal portrait photos. I have a pretty decent monitor now, but when I had an older one, the viewing angle and backlighting method made it look it crap. So just something to check on before investing on a swivel stand/mount.
At work using a dual monitor setup it would definitely decrease side-to-side head and eye movement so there's an ergonomic incentive. I'm going to try it on Monday.
I like and am currently looking into doing it at home haha :)
I can say it definitely functions WAY better in portrait on a mobile phone.
Do you mean landscape?
HAHA! yes... what I get for typing on my phone...
Thank you, and next time feel free to say, "Hey, idiot learn to spell!" :)
I would not.
Desktops portrait for coding and graphic work, landscape for games. Phones portrait for social media, landscape for taking pictures and videos.

haha I see you found the Markdown when trying to use #'s :)
I did indeed. Left it, be it bug or user error.
Nah all good and not a bug. Just part of the markdown language :)
I tried it at work. I liked it for Outlook but found it annoying when doing Vizio drawings.
Ahh ya I can see how things like vizio might be worst, however my co-worker did 1 vertical and 1 horizontal due to something just like this.
Yeah. I had three screens and turned one landscape and the other two I kept portrait. It worked pretty well.
glad to hear it! I'm at home looking up what I need to buy to make both of mine portrait, sadly the mounts don't so I think I'm going to have to buy a new mount.
Turn your desk sideways! lol
These look pretty legit-

Yes sadly my old monitors aren't able to be mounted lol.... So looking into what all it will take to upgrade. At this time I'm looking at about $400-600 to upgrade which isn't something worth spending just yet at least :)
I see a lot of good deals on monitors on uberi.com
Nice thanks!
