Official announcements and happiness!
What's new on Imzy!
Hi, all!
Wow, it's been a crazy few days for us. We've seen a lot of new people joining, and a LOT of new communities being created (over 100 just on Tuesday alone!!). If you haven't yet, please take a moment to go browse some of our new communities over here. You can filter by interest to help you find the ones you'll enjoy most! We're blown away by your enthusiasm, and trying hard to keep up with all the feedback you're giving us!
We released a few small updates today that I wanted to share with you.
Improved search for communities
Now when you start typing in the search bar, we'll show you communities with matching names, like this:

Make sure you also view the full search results, as there are always more communities related to that topic that won't show up if the word you're searching isn't explicitly in the title of the community, like this:

Commenting on posts in-line

We're continuing to test out lots of different ways of helping people join in conversations as easily as possible to build up our communities. Today we added the ability to comment on posts directly from your feed. We'd love to know what you think. We'll continue trying out new things to see what works best and iterating based on your feedback, so keep talking to us!
Thanks for being awesome! ❤

Every time I log in I find something new and interesting! Keep up the good work!
It's fun coming to work for this reason 😄
:-)
All these changes have been wonderful! Thank you!!
I used this earlier and it was really slick, though after I hit "post" on my comment, I realized there could be a good amount of context I was missing on the full text post, had I clicked through prior to comment.
Luckily it was just a post by Dan, apologizing for blowing up people's inboxes 😜
I wasn't missing additional context, but I could see this potentially being an issue, especially when people get over-excited to comment and miss important context they would have seen otherwise. Like for instance, your post here has significantly more information that I would have missed, had I not clicked through before commenting.
Additionally, on reddit, it was a fairly common phenomenon to see a post, be outraged/agree/disagree, go to the comments in order to share your opinion (omg how dare they!), and in the process see what others had written, oft times making you re-consider your position.
The context given in the comments section can be extremely valable, so I guess that's my main concern about how this feature might possibly go sideways and have inadvertant consequences. It could also result in a bunch of people just saying their opinion, without actually interacting? Not sure. Might just be something to keep an eye on and see how it plays out.
