Brief introduction of me: writer, bookworm, avid gamer, lover of tacos, and crazy cat lady.
What about you?
Hi there! I am equally as new here as you, if fact I think my "HI" post is the one just before yours chronologically. Nice to meet you all the same!
Nice to meet you too! :) Yay for newbies. I don't feel quite so lost knowing I'm not the only one trying to figure all this out.
Hi!
I mostly just dabble in little stories and fanfic for fun, but I dream of someday writing a book!
How many cats do you have to have to qualify as a "crazy cat lady"?
Are you a tabletop gamer or a video gamer or some of both? What's your current favorite?
Right now we only have two cats, but we ALWAYS have two cats if we can help it. My husband is just as much of a cat person as I am so we don't have kids, we have cats. If I figure out how to post pictures into comments I'll put up my fluff babies. :) (If you look real close at my avatar pic you can see one of my babies, Twerp, on my shoulder.)
I am a YES gamer. Lots of video games, mainly RPGs like Elder Scrolls, Dragon Age, Assassin's Creed, Uncharted, inFAMOUS, and Final Fantasy. I'm much newer to the tabletop gaming scene, as we finally have friends to play them with, but we play Magic and have a small selection of board games. We just learned a game called Fortune and Glory which is amazing. A bit complex but you basically play your own Indiana Jones treasure hunting adventure. I loved it!
Do you play Final Fantasy 14? If you do, omg, I love that game.
I don't! My first MMO was Elder Scrolls Online so it's been a little intimidating for me to take the plunge.
Oh man, the Elder Scrolls ...that's hard though. The gameplay, the plot, the everything, I feel like that's just a harder game.
Welcome! What do you write? Are you published already or still in the process of getting there?
Tacos are delicious. I ate them for lunch today.
Oh duh! I'm so distracted trying to figure all this out I forgot the most important information!
I write fantasy novels. I have three, plus a novella, published with a small press. If you're into magic and monsters and epic quests to save the world, check 'em out! amazon.com/author/brendajpierson
Wow, awesome! Did you use an agent, or did you just work directly with the publisher?
I went directly with the publisher. It's a super small press so it worked out well that way. :)
Cool, that's what I assumed. One of the nice things about smaller presses. :) How did you find/choose them?
I met the owner on a writer's forum, before he'd started the company. We became crit partners, and when he started to company he asked if I wanted to publish with him too. Super lucky, I know.
Oh, wow! That's a pretty unique story. Most people don't get asked to publish, haha. They have to do all the asking. All of it. A lot. Haha. That is lucky!
So true. I've done my share of asking, and I'm not done with that yet, but it was pretty amazing to actually be approached that way for once.
Hello! I'm also new here, though I think a bit newer than you are. Nice to meet you! I'm an avid gamer and cat lady too. (Though I sadly suspect that I may be allergic. Nooooooooo!)
What kind of books do you enjoy reading?
And yay gaming! I love Elder Scrolls and the Dragon Age games too. I'm a little more restricted in what I can play sometimes since I'm strictly a PC gamer, but that's probably a good thing. I'd never be able to sleep if I had access to all the games that don't get created for or ported to the PC.
