I went through Createspace for my poetry collection a few years ago, and they provided the options of hard copies, a createspace store, amazon, kindle, AND independent book sellers, AND corporate book sellers. You can choose which of those channels to pursue. The royalties from each of those channels was different, but it meant that if I wanted to, I could go to my local Barnes & Noble, give them the info for my book, and if they wanted to, they could order it and sell it in the same way they do from any other publisher.
Wow. I had no idea CreateSpace was that versatile! I thought they just provided paperbacks to Amazon. That's awesome.
Yeah, they're REALLY great. They even keep track of your royalties and send you the necessary tax documents once a year. I've loved them.
Amazon, iBooks, Nook, Kobo, Google Play, DriveThruFiction.
For audiobooks, ACX.
For RPG stuff, DriveThruRPG.
I've never heard of DriveThruRPG! Just went to check it out and I'm pretty sure I started drooling.
I published through IngramSpark, which gets you on Amazon (print and ebook), B&N, and iBooks (and a bunch of others, but those are the big ones.) I also released a PDF version through Gumroad, which, for a multimedia book, is a great platform
I've wondered about multimedia books! Is it easy to get started with Gumroad?
Gumroad's setup was completely straightforward. The signup, onboarding, and management UX are all very modern. I was up and running in less than 10 minutes
