Are you new to imzy? Come and say hi to the imzy community!
Hello from the other side (of my monitor)!
Hi, everyone ~ just peeking in to see what the site is all about. A friend offered me an invite yesterday and since I'm a take-life-by-the-balls kind of gal, I figured why not?!
Actually, I'm bored. Really, really bored. I'm laid up due to ankle surgery and have exhausted myself playing Candy Crush and watching reruns of Friends.
A little about me: I'm 41 and hold a degree in sociology (it's sitting on a shelf somewhere). I have 2 teenagers. Also three furbabies, although two of them are asshole cats who merely tolerate me living in the same house. Jerks. I've been married almost 17 years ->this is not so much an accomplishment as it is a testament of sheer stubborn will and determination.
Some things I like: journaling, hiking (when I can walk), creating stuff, binging on Netflix, tattoos, helping folks, being hilarious (I mean, it doesn't happen often, but when it does, I really like it!), all the dogs, and chillin' on the deck with my family talking like 'they' did in the good 'ol days.
I'm a simple soul with a complicated brain. I'm also entering that dreaded midlife stage. I don't know what this means, really, but I do feel a lot more chill these days, so there's that. I'm looking forward to trying this thing out and meeting new friends along the way.

Ooooh let's be friends! I just had my second ankle surgery a couple weeks ago, but thankfully I'm up and (quite painfully) walking around again. And I just started physical therapy this week! What did you do to yours? Here's the story on mine if you want to hear it, haha.
Welcome to Imzy! Hopefully we're able to help you out a tiny bit with the boredom, though I'm well acquainted with the insurmountable permaboredom that can pervade your soul after a little while of not being able to do anything at all, no matter how interesting something might otherwise be.
Hi Kaela! I was trying to be healthy and was taking a trampoline fitness class when I decided, regrettably, to show off my mad jumping skills and came face to face with the reality that 1)I'm not all that athletically coordinated and 2)I'm really really short. Thus, I couldn't quite make the landing between trampolines and landed on the mat between said trampolines. Severed my ATFL, but it was misdiagnosed as a simple level 1 strain (when, in fact, it was a 3) which led to whole lot of medical shenanigans, 5 weeks of ineffectual PT, and finally surgery to repair the tear, which I head 3 weeks ago. But the tear happened back in early May so I've been dealing with this for what seems like half an eternity. Lets commence with the friendship and the boredom slaying!
I spoke to Life just now. It was a little disconcerted at first by your grabbing its nethers, but would now like to buy you a drink. Welcome! (Perhaps we can double date. You with Life and me with Opportunity who randomly knocked on my door one day and now won't leave.)
Oooo, but I was really hoping to meet Opportunity and see where it goes. Hmmm. First post, and I'm already in the drama. Sheesh. wink
I certainly don't want to be known as the one who got between you and Opportunity. We're not exclusive anyway. Go for it!
Welcome! If you need help finding communities that align with your interests just ask. Everyone here is super helpful.
PS I totally sang your post title in my head...
YES! I am victorious! And thank you. :)
Hello!!
Hi.
Welcome! What kind of stuff do you like to create?
A little of this, a little of that. wink I created a couple of kids and they've turned out splendid! I'm very good at cake decorating and enjoy it, but hate the mess that's part of the process so I rarely do it anymore. I have a few art journals that I doodle in from time to time. I like to paint, as well, but I have to be really inspired and tend to air on the whimsical side (as opposed to anything remotely realistic). Right now I'm teaching myself to crochet and hope to make Jane hats for everyone I know.
