Are you new to imzy? Come and say hi to the imzy community!
Hi :)
Hi,
I'm sykora and I think? this is my first post here. I'm a pretty hardcore lurker most places I go but I'll try my best. I'm in my early 20s, and graduated from college with a computer science degree. I'm a web developer by trade but I'm also big into video games and playing guitar. I speak a small amount of Swedish despite not being from there, and I like to read a lot too.
The first website I ever joined was pretty cozy too, so I'm kind of excited to be part of a smaller community again :)

Welcome @sykora!
Thank you :)
Congratulations on the thinking. I find that it often gets me in trouble, but it's usually worth it. Welcome!
Thank you :) I try my best.
Hey there!
Looks like we have a similar Internet background in this sense. :) I miss that forum a lot. Wasn't perfect, wasn't entirely pretty, but it was home. It got flat out deleted with no warning, too.
Interesting, the site I went on years ago got deleted on a whim too. I sort of don't want to say the name because it was small enough that it would kind of be an identifier of who I am, but it was a lot of fun when I was there. Does Imzy have PMs? I'd be interested to see if we're talking about the same site.
We don't have private messaging between users yet : ( It's coming though!
I feel ya. I'll have to go find some more polls to vote in to make up for it.
I'll disclose which site mine was, no obligation to do the same: Tales Series Forums.
And nope, no PM system yet, but it's coming!
Ah ok, not the same site then :) Back in 2005-2007 the one I was on was basically a Gaia clone. I was there more for the RPG aspect of it though.
Nice! Yeah, TSF was in name a forum devoted to discussion of the Tales of games, and there was a lot of Tales discussion going on. Over time, though, the off-topic sections of the forum kinda grew their own ecosystem. The community had its own in-jokes and a lot of people knew each other by name. Had a completely Tales-unrelated RP and art scene going on, too, though I wasn't part of it.
Namco (parent company) pretty much forgot that the forums existed, so people had to deal on their own with site glitches, outdated stuff, trolls (praise the volunteer moderators who stuck around for years to shepherd everyone), etc. When they remembered, they promised to revamp the site... and then it went down, and stayed down. Ah well, maybe some parts of the past are better left buried.
Ha, yeah, I'm definitely glad most of the things I said on the internet when I was 12 don't exist anymore. I'm hesitant to say the internet was a different place back then but my experience certainly was.
Welcome!
Thank you :) Seems interesting so far. I've been going through and voting on everything in the polls community (is there a specific word for subform here?)
We just call them communities : )
Works for me!
