We topped off a Little Library!

My local mall has a Little Lending Library. Six shelves in an old phonebooth. However, most of the books hadn't been touched in years - the library was installed in 2008, and it seems nobody is officially in charge of maintaining it.

So I went around to the local thrift stores and picked up about thirty books. Not just the cheap books, but books on several different topics, fiction and fact.

Now, I say 'we', because when I drove up... it turned out two other kids had had the same idea! Apparently it was her old bookshelf that she was donating, because there was a lot of genre fiction from the 90s in it.

So before, it was shelf of westerns and a half-shelf of some chewed-up picture books and discarded devotionals. Now four of five shelves are stocked thick (which is just enough space for the oddly-sized books to take up the fifth shelf).

Gotta love sharing a good book. =)
