Jill Stein was the presidential nominee of the Green Party of the United States in 2012 and 2016.
Opinion: Jill Stein needs to get better at Twitter
It was bad enough that Jill Stein and her campaign decided to tweet about Harambe at a time when memes about the deceased gorilla are mostly ironic and sometimes racist.
More recently the Stein campaign is facing controversy for a Tweet that calls Hillary Clinton's health into question. Donald Trump and super pacs supporting him have been spreading false information to discredit Hillary Clinton on the basis of her health being questionable. There is no reason for Jill Stein to get on board with Trump's lie-based smear campagin against Clinton. Not only is the subject matter of Stein's tweet worrysome, the hashtags presented in it are awful.
Dr. Stein, you are a presidential candidate. Get serious about what you publish on social media and don't look to Trump as an example of how to use Twitter. Let's bring the conversation back to the important issues rather than tweeting about Harambe and Hillary Clinton's health. And yes, it is good that the tweet about Hillary Clinton was deleted. This was a wise retraction. In the future, think before you post because the Internet doesn't forget.
