Brexit vote: What's at stake for Jews in Britain

LONDON (JTA) - Less than two years after he moved his family from Paris to London, David Herz is already feeling at home in the United Kingdom. The co-founder of a communications agency, Herz is among thousands of French Jews who moved across the channel in recent years.

Are there a lot of Jews in Britain?

I believe the estimate is around 290,000.

That sounds like a lot to me!

Proportionally, there are fewer Jews per # of people in the UK than there are in the US. 1 per 220 vs. 1 per 53. Not surprisingly, Israel has the closest ratio, 1 per 1.32. UK is still in the top ten for overall numbers, though.

Thanks for the stat. I'm sad the Brexit vote went the way it did.
