Chosen Eats: High Holiday Recipe - Cauliflower-Apple Soup

With the rerelease of her popular cookbook, " Jewish Slow Cooker Recipes: 120 Holiday and Everyday Dishes Made Easy," chef Laura Frankel is able to add modern appeal to two things stigmatized by prominent-if unfair-reputations. This looks like a good recipe. At least the soup part. I wouldn't even know where to find duck to make a confit from it. Well, there's an Asian market down the road that probably has it, but since I doubt anyone in the family would eat it, it's moot point. Could do the soup and something else as a side. If you did a veggie stock instead of chicken it could even be parve (depending on your slow cooker and the kosherness of your house etc...). Either way, time to start planning for Rosh Hashanah meals!
