Newberry Award Winners
I just read Doll Bones to my 10 year old and we both really enjoyed it. Any other award winning books you've enjoyed for that age range?

The one that leaps immediately to mind is The Graveyard Book. But my young adult/middle grade/new adult shelf on Goodreads is overflowing. It can be found here, sorted by rating: https://www.goodreads.com/review/list/3837787-rowan-macbean?shelf=ya-mg-na-kids&sort=rating
I was going to say 'Graveyard Book' too! Read it now before the movie comes out. :)
OH and you would probably also enjoy the 'Tale Dark and Grimm' series by Gidwitz. It has a bit of a snarky tone to the narrator (think Lemony Snicket) but that works to offset the spooky parts since he is retelling fairy tales closer to their original style.
Though I haven't read it (yet) The Graveyard Book by Neil Gaiman seems to be promising. It's the only book on my list that sounds similar to Doll Bones.

Seems like the Graveyard book should really be next on the list then. Thanks everybody!
