9 Kind Reasons To Be Nice To Everyone (Even The Jerks Who Are Mean To You)

It's commonly believed that an eye for an eye is the best policy-stand your ground, hold your own, fight back. Certainly, assertiveness is an admirable trait because being too passive might make you a doormat that others will walk all over.

Afternoons seem to be Imzy prime time, not mornings.

    • BeemoJun 30, 2016 at 8:10 AMΔ

      Stop disparaging mornings!!!

      Mornings have feelings, too!!!

      • ifindkarmaJun 30, 2016 at 8:15 AMΔ

        You a morning bot, Beemo?

I wasn't disparaging mornings. I was suggesting we might get higher engagement on your great articles if we post them in the afternoons.

Funny to me that of all the comments I made this was the one you replied to.

        I love you, man.

        I AM A 24-HOUR-BOT!

Early birds will get worms!!! (Icky worms!)

These postings are an experiment. There's more activity later in the day -- that's why I want to try these regular morning posts. They might not catch on, they may get buried, but I'm testing out something I've been doing for a while in Debunker, which has grown steadily without me promoting it.

Getting people accustomed to seeing regularly-posted articles. No fireworks. Just a regular flow of content that I feel is pertinent to the community.

Ah, makes total sense. Thank you for splaining, and thank you for doing this! I'm sure @alivelystory and @thelizardqueen appreciate it too.

Should we have an articles tag or not necessary?

By the way, the early worm gets gotten. I suspect I am a worm, so Imma sleep in. :)

    7) The way you act is a reflection on yourself.

Your words or actions can last forever on others. Sometimes it doesn’t feel permanent to you, but to the other person, it could be everlasting.

  • ifindkarmaJun 30, 2016 at 7:39 AM

    4) Maybe the person to whom you’re speaking simply needs kindness to make their day better.

Or change their outlook. Being kind can be a way to positively alter someone’s cloudy mood. Though you may not always see the impact of your kindness, it still exists and it still matters.

  • ifindkarmaJun 30, 2016 at 7:07 AMΔ

Might want to start by not calling people who are mean to you jerks.

    • BeemoJun 30, 2016 at 7:24 AMΔ

      Beemo is a Jerk!!!

      :'-(

      • ifindkarmaJun 30, 2016 at 7:37 AM

Oh I wasn't referring to Beemo.

I was referring to ThoughtCatalog putting that in their title.

That panda in that gif is smashing.

    • WispJun 30, 2016 at 8:19 AMΔ

I think that panda would do well to read the article and reflect on it a bit.

      • ifindkarmaJun 30, 2016 at 8:22 AMΔ

        /pandas aren't good at reflection.

        Ask @lazypanda.

A panda eats, shoots, and leaves.

        That's what we do.

      • lazypandaJun 30, 2016 at 5:30 PMΔ

When facing a mirror, Pandas do not recognize themselves.

        They completely fail at reflection.

      • ifindkarmaJun 30, 2016 at 6:21 PMΔ

        I had forgotten that!

        I'm so thankful you exist.

        cc @wisp @alivelystory @beemo

        Haha! Good one!

  • ifindkarmaJun 30, 2016 at 7:39 AMΔ

    2) Everyone has their own demons and is fighting their own fight.

You don’t always know why they have been mean to you or why they have said or done certain things.

Assumptions made about others can be false—and most of the time they are.

Be cognizant of the fact that each person you meet could be struggling in his or her own way and being kind might remind them that they, too, should be kind.
