I'm actually smiling really big right now and am super happy.
My mum is dying of cancer (okay this doesnt really sound like it follows from the previous sentence) and I just called my best friend, who is healthcare professional (previously an LNA, currently an RT) with a lot of experience in acute care settings... she agreed to quit her job and come work for my mum and be her home health aid for the summer.
Which is like... super fucking huge. I told my mum on the phone that my friend (who is basically a daughter to her) had agreed. She was sooooo happy, she was unbelievably ecstatic and relieved, because she was really worried about trying to find some random aid from an agency- who are normally just out of school and not necessarily particularly useful.
It's like, literally a dream come true for my mum to be able to have my friend do this for her, because there's literally no one she would trust more to do that. She kept thanking me so many times and was like "I can sleep tonight, thank you thank you, this is so perfect"
And it's also a huge relief for both me and my dad, because we know my friend will take good care of her.
I'm a single mom of a special needs toddler who spent the first 7 months of his life in hospital and was written off by the doctors numerous times; I haven't stopped smiling since he came home. He makes me (and everyone around him) laugh with his antics.
People say that when I smile they wonder what I'm up to.
Do you Grinch smile?
Haha I don't think so but now I'm thinking about that smile. :)
hmm...
I see no grinch. :)
I missed a / when I first tried.
