Hello Everyone!

Hiya! Can't wait to meet you all!

My name is Sarah and, if you are interested, my portfolio can be found here

A little info about me =] My life is basically made up of art and video games. I have been selling my artwork at conventions around the UK since 2010 when I self-published my first manga, graphic novel (200 pages hand drawn, it took ages!). My time is now made up of commissions, art study and trying to squeeze the odd game of LoL in, haha!

I earned a place at The School of Visual Arts back in 2010, but unfortunately I was held back from going due to financial constraints. Since then free and near free education such as the KNKL show has been invaluable to me and kept the spark alive that I can still make it without formal education. Several weeks ago I signed up for the Oatley Academy's Magic Box program and am now spending the majority of my time learning Chris Oatley's digital painting techniques. Combining this with YouTube channels, books and any other resources I can find, I hope to be able to improve dramatically.

My dream is to work in the games industry, specifically Riot games (i'm sure a lot of people here have that same dream!). I actually only started playing league after being hypnotised by some of the character designs and splash art that a friend sent to me, which lead me to find the KNKL show, and now I enjoy playing and watching the game too.

I know I have a long journey ahead of me, but I will do everything I can to make my childhood dream of being a concept artist and illustrator in the games industry come true. Thank you so much for running the KNKL show, it has both instructed and inspired me for a long time.

Potential question for the show: How do you use "brush economy" in your images (if at all)? Do you have any tips on lost and found edges, or using minimal brush strokes to make a more powerful or painterly image?

And here's some art. =] This is the last image I completed before signing up for the Oatley Academy

Thanks for reading! ^^
