Help with how to go forward with this piece?

Always been kind of a lurker here, and always told myself that I should post eventually... so hello. :^)
I've been working on this piece on/off since August 2016 due to work, PS crashing leading to losing some progress, and getting stuck on what to do next. I recently came back to it again, but ended up stopping again because I got stuck on how to progress. Any tips/suggestions on how to continue with this piece, what I could possibly add/subtract, or just general ideas you think could help me along? Thanks in advance!~~ (The piece was supposed to be a birthday gift for my boyfriend of his Guild Wars 2 character.)

Your image is pretty flat, how about you add some depth with stronger cast shadows and strong highlights? Also keep your light source in mind. You need to work on your planes, think in polygons.
Personally, I like the bold lines on the hair. I feel it gives her character and flow. My other favorite thing about this piece is the nose; so kudos on that yo! Maybe one thing you could add is some texture to the clothes, and, optionally, a color overlay? Just to help the colors pop a little more. Overall, wonderful job!
Well... question at hand is, what do you want? This is your style, so it is hard to tell, what you can change or add. You can change EVERYTHING if you want to got for hyperrealism, you can change EVERYTHING if you want to got for simple cellshading... You have to tell us, what you want to achieve and then we can give you tipps on how to get there. Everything else is guessing into the blue, where you might want to go.
Though one thing you can work on is the metal parts. The shine on it is straight, like they would be completely flat.
Ahh, why have you waited to post? This is turning out to be a great piece!
In my opinion, getting rid of the black lines would be a good next step. If they are on their own layer, you can use Kienan's line coloring method only really play around with some complimentary or saturated colors in shadow areas to really add a little color variation. For instance, all of the brown leather or cloth stuff is the same color just different values and saturations...try to move the color in the shadowed parts cooler, since you have a warm light source.
