    Of the ones I've studied purely for personal interest, I like being able to read or watch media in their original formats. Secondarily I enjoy the linguistics of them, different sorts of grammatical structures or phonemes I've never had to use before and find pleasant to the ear (which aren't always the ones everyone else does I suppose), and I do find that fun. But the end goal is usually that I want to read or watch something, or in a couple cases, communicate with family.
