A community for leaders on the Imzy platform.
My reply on running ads on Imzy
Dan commented on Why Not Run Ads?
Sorry for chiming in late here, I've been on vacation and really trying to take a break ... it's not working that well. To understand why we don't run advertising, I think I need to explain my theorie...
imzy.com
Putting it here for visibility as this ultimately effects all of you leaders! Also, I can't believe there are almost 1,000 of you now!

A thousand community leaders is pretty extraordinary.
Kudos to Imzy!
So happy Imzy is growing :D
The link you give is acting odd for me. It loads, and for a couple of seconds I can read it, and then it loads a 404 eroor message page instead.
Yup, same here. Ends up redirecting to https://www.imzy.com/error?url=%2F%3AcommunitySlug%2Fpost%2F%3ApostSlug%2Fcomment%2F%3AcommentId.
Forgive the copy/pasta
Are you using an ad blocker by chance? We've been alerted that it causes issues with our site when the URL contains the word "ads". Which, y'know this does. :)
If you disable it, given Dan's statement about not running ads, does that fix the issue?

I thought I'd turned it off for Imzy, but had not. That seems to have corrected the issue- thank you.
There is something funny about asking users to disable their adblocker in order to see why you aren't showing them ads.
Yeah. @Alex this seems bad can you research?
Adblock is specifically designed to block unwanted behaviors in browsers. It includes redirects to URLs that might contain ad-related content. The first thing it does is analysis of the URL and it blocks browser from being redirected to the destination if it doesn't pass safe check. In this particular case URL seems dangerous to adblock because of ads word in it. It's up to user to turn it off or add imzy.com domain to a safe list.
Would it be unfeasable to have it redirect to something other than a 404 page, when that issue happens?
I will install adblock extension and play with it, so I can have better understanding of what we can do about it.
