Textual practice for Podcast Adventures!
On the podcast adventures, I hope to live-podcast or interview people with their voices or with video (if they like, of course).
I can't do that at the moment, not having asked permission from this particular coffeeshop. But my lil brother and I are at a real live coffeehouse right now!
So... ask us anything! I'll answer in the comments!
I'll assume you're asking me the question unless you start the queston with "For Matt"
:) :) :)
Silly, serious, coffee-related... it is all good!

What's the most common mistake people do in preparing coffee?
Hmmm... as a barista? We are often forced to not be as precise as would be ideal to make the perfect espresso.
The machine should be cleaned, the espresso should be weighed, the grind should be tampered with -
But in starbucks and fast coffeeplaces like this, it's all about speed over the perfect shot!
But at home...
I think a lot of people might not realize the incredible difference of fresh grinding beans for that morning!
I encourage people to try new roasts and beans because you might not have found that perfect one for you just yet :)
If there is the ability, I think it's fun for people to try different methods too! Pour over, drip brewer, and French press make vastly different types of coffee. You might find the perfect cup is just a new method away!
I just made up a word.... coffeeplaces
Thanks! Any roasts or blends you consider underrated? What's the most exotic you've ever tried? What's the best coffee you've ever tasted?
😍
Hmm! Um... I honestly can love just about any coffee, hehe!
Sometimes I think even a "less than exotic" bean like Starbucks can turn out splendid. I took their Gold Coast roast and did it through a French press and it turned out all silky and nice.
But it is true that I much prefer a local, ritzy coffeeshop with their fancy, sumptuous, measured out espresso shot and perfect crema!
I love espresso more than coffee, so I don't feel like I have the perfect outlook on brewed coffee roasts.
The most exotic thing I might have tried was a tea made from the shells of coffeepods - it was a special thing a brewer in Milkwaukee did and it was so intriguing!
I got it from here; I got to tour them once and it was super amazing:

The best coffee I ever tasted was probably one from them called "Boneshaker!" hehe
I want to try that "Death Wish coffee" everyone talks about, and haven't yet.
"Would you support switching over to a coffee-based economy?"

Yes! Throwback humor!!!
LMHO! I wonder who wrote this one!
Absolutely.
I would enjoy being paid in coffee.... and then moving throughout my day faster, faster, faster....
Hehehehe
Salaamy McSalaamface, are you running for President on a bean-based economy platform?!
I can neither confirm nor deny any allegations alleging that I plan on running for the president of the United States. However, after being questioned on my some-what controversial views, I will make the following statement:
America's economy is failing. When will we realize that people don't really like being given paper with traces of heroin on it (yes your money most likely has traces of heroin on it)? But, everyone loves coffee, even if they hate it, they secretly love it. America must do something to change if they do not want to end up like the Romans. Someone must stand up to do what is necessary. And that somebody should have at least 13 degrees in coffeenomics.
Hee!
A coffee based economy?! You have my vote and I will follow you anywhere.
(Is that stalkery? I'm quite often inadvertently creepy, but I mean well! :)
Alright! That's 2 endorsements already!
Well, three if you count me.
But I'm just a figment of your imagination, so you can't vote for me.
Why not?
Because it's illegal, and schizophrenic.
FINE. Maybe I won't vote for you!
FINE. I don't need you anyway! I'm a successful author, I don't need you! You don't even have a degree!
You're so mean ;(
. . . . .
Well I should try not to do that again. This whole 2-personality thing is getting out of hand.
Agreed.
Am I too late? Why do baristas often ask me what size I want my cappuccino to be? Isn't that determined by the amount of espresso in it? I have this concept that a cappy is 1:1:1 coffee:milk:foam. Am I wrong? Being wrong in a coffee shop is one of the worst social crimes known to modern man. Please help me avoid coffee-related ostracism. Thank you in advance for your kind assistance.
What kind of coffee shop are you in?
There is a standard cappuccino ratio but depending on the coffee shop, they might not follow it or might have their own recipe.
Starbucks, for instance, doesn't follow traditional recipes often!
So they want to make sure you're happy
:)
Awwwwww. That's sweet. From now on I'll ask for specific proportions. (And Starbucks is purely a caffeine option of last resort. :). Thank you!
