I think the older you get the harder this is to answer. I've got a lot I'm proud of and a lot I'm not proud of. Professionally speaking, I'm very proud that I was able to make a lot of people happy at the last company I was at (reddit).
I hope to surpass that at Imzy!
I'm currently proud that my teenage kids aren't hateful or racist and that they have pretty good context for the current world we live in.
I totally blanked on this question too because you're right, it's difficult to answer as we get older.
Excellent that your kids aren't hateful. /kindness applauds that achievement.
I think you're missing the word "happy" in the sentence "make a lot of people" above. :)
is there a joke in this giph that I'm totally missing?
OMG, I just blue myself.
@dan there has GOT to be a better way to say that.
@eilis I'm not sure. I don't know the context either. It's a giphy weakness to not have context.
I could make Arrested Development jokes all day, every day.
haha, I loved that show! Did you like the reboot of it?
p.s. who was your favorite character?
I find Buster irresistible, and also the Michael Cera character is just so earnest. :)
I like Michael Cera too :) and Maebe. I always felt weird, but I liked them together! But I'd gotten the spoiler before watching the show they weren't related, so not that weird I guess!
Make a lot of people happy? Or maybe I am reading it wrong!
Congratulations on knowing your kids are growing up to be good people (: I don't have kids, but can only imagine how rewarding that must feel!
I would say it was graduating from college yesterday, but if I can manage the big move tomorrow without arguing with my family, it will be that.
Hey! I hope the move goes smoothly :) Congratulations on graduating!!!
Thanks!
oh wow, big congrats!
What did you graduate in?
English (Technical and Professional writing). I got a job as a technical writer, which I will be starting next week.
Congratulations on the new job!
Hooray! Excellent question. :) Now I have to think of it.
I totally am blanking.
I'm not usually proud of accomplishments, and I try not to beat myself up when things don't work out.
I feel like this can be answered in a macro or micro way! There are certain tiny moments in which I felt very happy with my choice, but which probably weren't like, the defining proud moment of life. And, certain moments that seemed to be most proud, at the time, have since been surpassed as I grew up (: Some moments that stand out: Bringing a starving kitty out from the cold (!) Graduating high school, and college, with good grades Whenever I get to that final page of a novel and feel like, ah yes, it's complete! (Then weeks later realize it needs revised twice more, but whatever!) Writing a lot in general, and being adept with words That time I helped a teenager at an airport, instead of ignoring her need! Long story, but I was proud of helping. I too often feel too embarrassed to step in, to help. Playing a song fulfillingly (on piano especially) Having overcome several life-changing obstacles and still being here smiling! I'm proud of this community too :)
Yeah i should have said one of the moments instead of THE moment. But great that you help people (or kitties!!) in need. :D
:D
For me it would be realizing I was unhappy in my career path. Changing path completely. And self-teaching myself to success.
