Classic remedies and recipes!
What are some handed down in your family that others might find strange? I've thought of three:
Super glue on cuts
Baking soda and water paste for bug bites (it works!)
Chicken n noodles eaten on mashed potatoes

You know how furniture can leave very compressed divots in carpet over time? If you want the divots to decompress and even out after moving said furniture, put ice cubes in them and let them melt.
The slow melting of the ice cubes will gradually soften the shell of compressed carpet and the divot will puff back up.
It's something we've been doing in my family for a few generations and I never thought it was strange until I mentioned it to a friend of mine who's an interior designer and had never ever heard of it. She said that those divots are the bane of her staff because they can be very noticeable, which distracts some very attentive clients when they are inspecting new furniture in a room with wall to wall carpet. They never had a good solution for it until I mentioned the ice cubes. She acted like I had invented a miracle cure for some disease.
that is so interesting
My family always puts cheddar cheese in our waffle mix!
oooooo yum
SERIOUSLY. It's so good! A little salty with the sweetness of the waffles and syrup, and it gets all crispy and crunchy in a waffle iron.
A mixture of vinegar and honey used as cough medication.
cool!
I always boil fresh mint leaves and drop some lavender essential oil in, along with vanilla and occasionally a bit of cinnamon. Makes a delicious tea as well as an amazing sore throat aid. I study herbal medicine and traditional witch medicine on my free time.
That's lovely. Where do you obtain essential oils from, if you don't mind me asking?
There's a new age shop in my city. I also use online shops from time to time.

Idk where you live but this is an evergrowing list of physical shops with websites to browse
that sounds so tasty!
My herbal remedies usually taste decent. Sometimes they taste awful and are hard to actually drink but they do the best jobs. Like the dandelion tea. Bitter and thick but if you need your upset stomach fixed it works well.
