Have you ever been to any class reunions?

  • Question

I never have!

Were you happy you went? Was it as interesting as the movies make it seem?

:)

No way, never. For some reason I have no desire to connect with people from high school or college in any way at all.

      Saaaaaaaame.

I skipped my 5 year, even though I was living within driving distance of my school at the time. I had no interest.

I'll probably go to my 10 year though.

I just missed my 10 year HS one... man I thought you were older than I for some reason! Ha! Let us know how it goes!

  • fluffywhitethingNov 10, 2016 at 5:03 PM

Nope, and don't plan on it

  • hwbNov 10, 2016 at 5:17 PM

I went to my 10 year reunion and it made me really sad.

    • zhemaoNov 10, 2016 at 6:36 PM

      Why was it sad?

  • MsFortitudeNov 10, 2016 at 5:10 PM

    Nope and don't plan too

  • TheLizardQueenNov 10, 2016 at 5:03 PM

    Skipped my 10 year.

Don't wanna go to one. Ever.

Went to my 25th HS reunion and it was AWESOME. Discovered that everyone hated the same mean people I did and me, the nerdy kid got to sit at the main table this time, because it seemed that I was more popular than I remember, lol. Also, got drunk as a skunk and danced, a lot.

Never! Not even remotely interested. I was overseas playing music on a few occasions when invites were sent to my mum's place, and didn't feel as if I'd missed out on anything. The few I try to keep uptodate with don't go, either.

I skipped my 5, 10 and 20 year reunion (damn I feel old now) and dont plan on going to one.

  • WillMunNov 11, 2016 at 11:38 AM

Nope! I wasn't even invited. My 10 year was done all through Facebook, it was a hilariously slapdash affair and since I didn't have a Facebook account I never got the invite.

From what I saw it ended up being like 20-some odd people who just went to a local "fancy" (hah) restaurant/bar and rented out the patio area. It was comical how low effort it really was.

Wouldn't have gone anyway... High School sucked and so did 98% of the people in my class.

Maybe if I become a best selling author I'll go to my 20th. Not bloody likely, though.

I feel like social media has killed any reason for me to go to mine. I grew up in a very small town (technically a village, so I was a Village Person). My graduating class was maybe 25 people and there was an attempt to get a reunion together a couple years ago in 2013 for a ten year reunion.

I was friends with most of them on facebook at the time. I've since whittled my friends list down, since there's a reason I left that little village and never looked back. Most of them who were interested all still live within an hour away and see each other regularly anyway. Those of us who moved away, did so and never went back, so there was little reason to do an actual reunion.

Facebook basically took away all of those reunion reasons. I know what they do for a living. I know who they're married to, how many kids they have. I've seen their vacation photos. I know which ones put on weight (sadly myself included on that one) and which ones have lost weight. I don't have an ugly duckling crush who is now single as the reunion movie tropes go.

There really is no reason to have one. I feel like that was a thing that was necessary before social media, but it will become a thing of the past as we tend to stay more connected now.
