Fizzy drinks, because I'm a boring Brit.

    • ifindkarmaMay 15, 2016 at 5:09 PMΔ

I know that you're not boring because you named yourself after Lyanna.

      Hat tip /game_of_thrones ...

      • ItsLyannaMay 15, 2016 at 5:16 PMΔ

I'm more of a fan of the books, not too keen on the quality of the show :P

      • ifindkarmaMay 16, 2016 at 12:08 AM

You're only making me like you more.

The show is a diversion while we're waiting for book six to be published. :)

      • orange_monsterMay 16, 2016 at 9:16 AMΔ

Really? What is it you don't like about them? For me I think they're probably one of the best book-to-screen adaptations I've seen of just about any movie/to show/book. Of course, they're not perfect, but I think it's pretty great. What part turns you off of it?

      • ItsLyannaMay 16, 2016 at 11:43 AM

Now they've run out of book to adapt, the plots have gone really downhill. Also the fact that they squeezed three books into one season, and made some ridiculous character decisions.

    • DanMay 15, 2016 at 8:09 PMΔ

Is this seriously what you call them?

      • ItsLyannaMay 16, 2016 at 2:15 AM

        Yep! It's a British thing.

    • EilisMay 15, 2016 at 9:26 PMΔ

i've never heard anyone call it fizzy drink-- which means it's not boring!

      • ifindkarmaMay 16, 2016 at 12:08 AM

I believe that's what Willy Wonka called them too.

  • EilisMay 15, 2016 at 3:03 PMΔ

pop! I find it funny when people call every pop a 'coke' though

    • DanMay 15, 2016 at 3:03 PMΔ

When I grew up in California, I called it a Coke.

      • EilisMay 15, 2016 at 3:04 PMΔ

that's so funny! I never knew that was a thing til I traveled in the South. I love stuff like that.

      • ifindkarmaMay 15, 2016 at 5:15 PMΔ

Remind me, do you spend a lot of time in the south or just vacations?

I went to college in Virginia.

      • EilisMay 15, 2016 at 6:01 PMΔ

I just have been there on vacations, but I enjoy it! (: I haven't really spent a lot of time in Virginia, though it looks beautiful. Mostly SC, FL, some LA

      • ifindkarmaMay 16, 2016 at 12:06 AM

SC, FL, and LA are all so different!

I'm going to Alabama next month to visit family.

Virginia is lovely. It's the north of the south. :)

    • ifindkarmaMay 15, 2016 at 5:10 PMΔ

Nsync calls it Dirty Pop! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TWZKw_MgUPI

      • EilisMay 15, 2016 at 6:01 PMΔ

        what!

      • ifindkarmaMay 16, 2016 at 12:05 AM

        It's a song of theirs from 2001. :)

    • teamvistaMay 15, 2016 at 7:02 PM

      Yup, pop here as well.

  • MissMechaZeroMay 15, 2016 at 6:19 PM

This is missing Canada but most people here in Vancouver call it Pop. I still call it Soda but I grew up in New Hampshire where that's pretty much the only name used.

  • NormallyNotThisSocialMay 15, 2016 at 4:24 PM

I interchange between soda and pop. No rhyme or reason for it.

  • CluckyBMay 15, 2016 at 3:42 PMΔ

Pop is a sound a balloon makes. Soda is a drink.

      this

      • ThomasMay 15, 2016 at 8:30 PMΔ

I feel like the giphy plug-in set up to purposely give out out of context gifs. haha

      • RequadMay 16, 2016 at 10:31 AM

        Thats all the fun!

  • ThomasMay 15, 2016 at 3:10 PMΔ

    Coke!

I've lived in New Orleans, Lafayette (Louisiana), and Houston and we always called it "coke".

    • DanMay 15, 2016 at 8:10 PMΔ

It's one of my dreams to live in NOLA

      • ThomasMay 15, 2016 at 8:27 PMΔ

NOLA is great, but Lafayette really the "hidden gem". So much more culture here (we're the true heart of Cajun country) and none of the crazy tourist traps of NOLA. We're basically the Austin of Louisiana.

      • EilisMay 15, 2016 at 9:27 PM

New place added to my list! That sounds awesome.

  • ErratictransparencyMay 15, 2016 at 7:29 PM

    Soda, and I'm in TN.

  • SaicredMay 15, 2016 at 3:21 PM

    Coke

  • JoeMagicianMay 15, 2016 at 4:35 PMΔ

Soda, although my grandmother always called it tonic or pop.

    • EilisMay 15, 2016 at 9:27 PMΔ

Tonic! That sounds so classy :)

      • NateMay 16, 2016 at 8:38 AM

Seriously. I almost want to start calling it soda to sound more pretentious.

  • orange_monsterMay 16, 2016 at 9:16 AM

Soda! What's wrong with all you crazy people?

    Jk. ❤️

  • EilisMay 15, 2016 at 3:04 PM

no data (: that tiny string of Alaskan islands
