The Lofree Dot Is One Funky Keyboard [A Review]
Evaluating the mechanical Dot keyboard from Lofree! It's based on retro typewriters and Apple's Magic Keyboard, but it's also Bluetooth and has one of the strangest layouts I've ever seen. ● Lofree sent me this review unit.

Because I'm a keyboard nerd and had been checking this on out on their Indiegogo campaign.
Welp... will be taking a miss on this one because despite the price point, wireless Bluetooth ability, and the pretty aesthetic I need a decent keyboard that is first and foremost A DECENT KEYBOARD.
By the way if you enjoy retro tech you should totally check out this guy. He's a sweetheart and nerd supreme.

Weirrrrddd.....
Cute! But that key layout is killing me.
Me too, they're all just slightly off. I've had the same issue with the keyboard on my (previously expensive, new Dell) laptop which moved from keys that had wonderful function but not so great form, to decent form but not as great function. I'm hoping the next one I get has fixed that issue. It was really tough to type on for the first month or so, and I still hit the wrong key, or two keys every 20 words or so even though I've had it for 5.5 years. This thing is pretty, but talk about form over function! Yikes!
I couldn't get used to that... I actually cringed when he used the arrow keys!
I saw a similar aesthetic by Logitech (smaller chiclet style keyboard). It comes in orange! So I might grab one of those for travel purposes. I really just dig the look overall. Though the Bluetooth capability would be awesome (as in I'd find a way to use it hahah).
I love LGR, Did you watch his IBM unboxing video last week? Like a kid in a candystore. He was so giddy.
I've watched all of his videos. ALL OF THEM.
He reacts the same way I do over this stuff. We'd totally be friends hahaha
@Magess you showed me this keyboard I think?
I did. I'm sad to hear that it's not a decent keyboard. :(
Some of the alternatives he mentioned at the end look interesting.
Yeah I love that look. That full sized wired one he received looks amazing. Maybe I'll hassle him on Twitter for a review of that.
Oooooh! I do love it when companies take feedback!
Yeah, I thought that was surprising and refreshing. I feel like most reviews just get ignored.
True that. He's a gem though and his feedback is always constructive even when something is total shit.
