A celebration of the greatest city on the planet: London. (The one in England, not the other one.) All are welcome!

TfL is now well into its controversial six-month standing-only escalator trial, which launched in April. But is anyone actually following the new rules? Apparently not. They've tried painting blue footprints on both sides of the escalators, putting up 'helpful' signs reminding people to 'keep standing', and they've even installed a creepy hologram at the bottom of the escalator, which politely asks commuters to follow the new rules.
As much as I prefer this community to become a 'Let's repost things from Time Out', this was too good to pass up.
What say you all? Standing on both sides of escalator: yay or nay?

If it reduces queues then yeah no problem. Also those escalators at Holborn are insanely long, very few people actually want to walk up. Plus by doing this they might make it faster overall than just walking up.
Apparently the science behind it is pretty solid and this trial period should show that on the whole it will speed things up. Sounds like the test subjects are a bit resistant.
