He reminds of a young boy stomping his foot and fussing because he can't have a piece of candy. Great character but I would not spend a minute of real life with him : )
It's funny, we follow these characters through a number of years and Pete's one of those characters that never quite becomes too sympathetic... IMHO... but going through all the characters this past day, I'm reminded how great the characters are in this show. They're all so wonderfully realized. So distinct.
Joan's given an amazing journey over the time we see her. She seems like she's going to be a 1-dimensional antagonist for Peggy in the beginning, but we really get to see her evolve as the world evolves around her. She's a character, I feel, the audience gets to know and develop genuine compassion for over the course of our time with her.
Ugh, Pete. Pete is such a shitbird.
Haha -- not a Pete Campbell fan??

I think Joan is my favorite. The 'hot secretary' is usually not given much to work with or any complexity as a human character.
