Iron Fist Ep 11: Danny and Davos
Davos makes this show so much better. Like, wow. Someone with conviction!
Someone who sounds vaguely in love with Danny most of the time!
Davos and Claire should tour New York, so she can try to convince him that it isn't all trash.
Everything that happens to Colleen is utterly predictable. Once we found out she was The Hand, there was absolutely no other way this was going to go down. "We're good!" "No you're not." "Yes we are!" "No you're not." "You don't know everything Danny!" "I know this." Five minutes later. "What? The Hand is evil??? WHY DIDN'T I SEE IT BEFORE!"
It's nice that she's going to be a good guy, but jeez these plots came out of a crackerjack box.
The fight scene with Colleen was nice at least. She's brutal and capable.
I like Claire's insight that the monks' "just bottle your emotions" method is not so good and not particularly healthy. There's a huge difference between forcing your emotions down and feeling them and letting them go.
You know who tried that bottling up stuff?
Jedi.
How'd that turn out?
Anyway, when Danny finally meets up with Colleen he has this lovely speech about how they both need to stop destroying things. But... how does this apply to her exactly? What destructive path has she been on, aside from the one to escape death? Danny, meanwhile, has been pissing off everyone he knows and trying to drive his company into the ground.
I'm not sure this is a change they both need to make.
I really appreciate the flashbacks to K'un-Lun. Davos keeps asking Danny why he left, why he abandoned him. (This is very personal for Davos.) And Danny never answers him. But at least we get one flashback where he's in the mountain pass, staring at the city, and stacking stones. And Davos says that now he knows what his life will be like. Just more of this. Wind. Snow. Boring.
Why did Danny leave?
Because he was bored.
Which is the reason a lot of people do a lot of things, like explore the ocean or the stars.
