Welcome to Fanfiction Thursday! Here you can share and discuss Marvel fanfic about any Marvel character or ship.
Alongside a link to the fic, please include:
- The pairing, if there is one
- The rating
- A short description (either the author's or your own) and a little bit about why you liked the fic to get the discussion going
Self-promotion is allowed. If you are posting your own fic and would like concrit, please include a note saying so in your comment.
You can see a complete list of all fics that have been shared in our Fanfiction Thursday posts here and on reddit at our Fanfiction Thursday collection on AO3, or reblog last week's recs at @marvelfansofreddit.
Note: Feel free to rec fics even if they have been recced in the past - I can only bookmark them once, but we can discuss them as often as we want!
Happy reading!

I've been catching up on my reading a bit this week, so yay!
Twelve Birds of Christmas (Steve/Bucky/Sam, general audiences)
This is a cute and funny Sam-centric fic in which he is the actual King of the Birds. Maybe. At any rate, that's what he tells Odin when Odin accuses him of stealing his ravens. It is Steve/Bucky/Sam, but the shippiness is very minor and background to the story.
People Change (Memories Don't) series, by lucymonster (gen so far, teen+)
This is a post-Civil War WIP series in which they try to break Bucky's brainwashing by turning him into the Winter Soldier and then basically re-educating him. It's a pretty unique take on it, and this author always has an interesting interpretation of Bucky and the Winter Soldier.
A favorite I have bookmarked is Counterpoint by fullofleaves, a Loki/Tony AU. The summary:
I haven't read a lot of Avengers AUs since the main type of fic I prefer is one with a lot of inter-team dynamics and AUs don't tend to really do that. But I really loved the way Loki and Tony still remain very much themselves here despite the radical difference in setting. What's more it's a historical fic, which really captures another of my major reading interests. There are no other Avengers characters that I can recall other than those mentioned in the summary but I quite liked Jane's role here. I also think the setting and the sense of gloom fit the idea of Loki's background quite well.
Some Guys Like Cold Showers by NezumiPi
The pairing is a brief Iceman/OC, but it's more of a genfic. Bobby gets some bad advice with regard to his lovelife. This ends up with Bobby in a funk and Northstar giving him some much-needed mentorship on dealing with the gay dating scene. It's a nice quasi-canon gap-filler that lets Bobby and Jean-Paul interact without any canon relationships getting torn down.
