they removed the public tags from this community, nice that such censoring actions are taken without notifying anyone in the community.
so much for "reddit but better."
no, it means that people can't see this community unless they search for the custom tags I set or are directly linked to this community.
I honestly don't have any problems with them doing this given the nature of the community, but it would be nice if they would've notified me beforehand or even at all.
Ah sorry about that. We go through a large amount of communities per day and will sometimes adjust tags according to what seems reasonable.
Because y'all seemed like a pretty insular shitposting community (no offense intended), and because our tagging system is being a little wonky right now with what it actually turns up, I removed those so folks who are looking for cute cats or technology news or something don't accidentally show up at your doorstep when they don't actually belong here.
Yeah totally get you. We tend to go through and fix tags for all the communities, especially since we're still in closed beta and haven't perfected our automatic recommendation stuff yet.
I totally get why it would look weird to community leaders, but I don't think I could reasonably email everyone, sorry!

So people on the front page can't see us?

I'm going to take that as a "yes" to my second question.

fair enough, seems pretty reasonable - would've still been nice if you guys had shot me a quick email beforehand :)
