Menhera, the Japanese street fashion.
Western and Fandom clothing in Menhera
What is everyone's opinion on western clothing in Menhera in this case meaning clothing not specifically made for Menhera but made by western companies eg. "cute but psycho" shirts, "sleepy" shirts and the rare shirt with a medical theme. What about fandom clothing that has a mental health related design or appears too eg. Mirai Kuriyama from beyond the boundary has a lot of designs where she appears to be self harming atleast to people unfamiliar with the anime, shirts that say "I'm an emotional timebomb" or "Psychoanalysis for everyone!".

I think creating an overall look is probably more important. Menhera isn't like a fashion that has as strict as rules as say lolita, but I still think you have to retain the aesthetic. You have to think about how the piece would fit into an overall look. If it does fit then I see no problem :)
There's actually quite a lot of fandom art (you can find those with searching the japanese titles and adding 病み) but hardly any printed clothes due to japanese manufacturers not allowing copyright material to be printed even if it's fanart.
As long as something isn't poorly drawn or lacks the two-faced kawaiiness there shouldn't be any issue that would make it not work.
If you can find a piece of western fashion to blend well into a menhera coord i see no issue. As for the "sleepy" , "cute but psycho", and etc shirts i think they can work if done right.
