A place to complain, whine, share, and laugh about the horrors that visit us once a month (supposedly).
White Sheets
I've had these beautiful white sheets for 5 days. Five! Days! And now they have a big red stain right in the middle, because my period is an unpredictable little asshole.
What do? How can I make these sheets look like new again, or conversely, should I just play this up and present my stained sheets to any prospective overnight guests as a way to gauge their comfort level with my vaginal output?

Rinse it out with cold water as best you can. Then soak the stain in hydrogen peroxide in as dark a place as you can. (Light can turn hydrogen peroxide into water). White vinegar if you don't have hydrogen peroxide. 20-25 minutes. If it's still there, try glass cleaner. Then try a paste of baking soda and water. Wash the sheets in cold water and bleach after you've tried all of the above.
Personally I vote for keeping the stained sheets for future guests.
Stains usually come out in the wash for me without having to soak - idky, it's not like I wash @ high temperatures or use any fancy detergent. It's usually cheap stuff.
I think the bio is better than non-bio detergent because the enzymes remove the blood, but if you have skin conditions (eczema) this might not suit you.
And if they end up stained, you can dye it a darker color to cover up any faint stains or to refresh them if they don't return to pretty white
If you happen to be prone to staining things around the house OxiClean is pretty much the most amazing product ever. I've seen that get set blood stains out. Kinda use it as a prewash stain treatment for clothing or bedding, but also good for carpets and couches and whatnots.
