Anything to do with mental illnesses/disorders
I recorded an album in attempt to channel some of the shit out of my head: behold, "Lullabies for Schizoaffective Millennials." 100% free.
Lullabies for Schizoaffective Millennials, by Shelley
Lullabies for Schizoaffective Millennials by Shelley, released 05 July 2016 1. Buttercup (And So We Rest) 2. Tetrahedron Stars (feat. Sam Leigh) 3. Knotted Mustard Skirt 4. Now That Your Hair's Grown Long 5. Somnambulant Card Castles 6. Every Hundred Years I Will Wash My Face and Hands 7.
I write a lot of songs about how I feel and product them with many instruments to simulate the sorts of things I hear while listening to my own songs.
I write songs over months or years, whenever I find myself returning to the emotional state each respective song represents.
Putting this piece out has been a way of letting people know how paranoid and depressed I am without self-harming. And letting other people in my town know something's off with me, but I'm trying to survive. Fuck stigma.
Hope you are all well. Sorry if this feels like advertising -- I'm just trying to reach my very specific demographic.
Feel free to ask questions or discuss whatever.

That was an interesting listen. I liked the way it started and ended with what seemed like two halves of one Buttercup song. The music and the lyrics were dense, I'll have to listen again. I bet I'll hear different things the next time through. Thanks for making the album available!
the vocals made me think of Pumped Up Kicks
I feel like I could spend a long time listening to these lyrics, but I'm in the middle of stuff right now so I've got the album turned on low as background music and it's really soothing. And I needed that this morning... so thank you!
I love that you're able to use music to channel your experiences rather than turning to self-harming. It's so hard to communicate "I'm not okay" sometimes, and this is such a great way to do it.
