“we write every day, we fight every day, we think and scheme and dream a little dream every day. manuscripts pile up in the kitchen sink, run-on sentences dangle around our necks. we plant purple prose in our gardens and snip the adverbs only to thread them in our hair. we write with no guarantees, no certainties, no promises of what might come and we do it anyway. this is who we are.” ― Tahereh Mafi

590 words on my wip. As my brain decided to start a new fic yesterday, I'm now juggling five wip. :(
530ish words to start a series I've been thinking of! I'm happy to set that aside for now and focus on ideas that have spent longer waiting their turn, but it's so exciting to have an engaging opening I'm proud of. That's very hard for me. It's a mystery series so I think it will be good to let it develop over a long period of time. Although most stories have something to figure out this is my first time firmly in the mystery genre and it's a lot to consider.
327 words :)
It's kinda weird how you can power through a project to get to that one scene you're desperate to write and then you get there and -
the words just stop.

Brains are fun/evil that way :D
I wrote a fic that is 1,229 words (so definitely not microfic) that you can check out here. I'm pleased that I was able to write this fic today since it also completes a multi fandom series that I had started based on one of those tumblr "imagine your otp" prompts.
Go you!
