Write 100. December 6
This month's writing challenge is to write 100 words a day (or more if you like). Chat up, cry for help, brainstorm, discuss, shoot the breeze, and share snippets and progress on the daily posts.
First, find out what your hero wants, then just follow him! – Ray Bradbury

I wrote three drabbles in /100words and two longer pieces today!
Drabbles
Did It Hurt?
Fandom: Hawaii Five-0 (2010)
Pairing: Steve/Danny
"Did it hurt?"
Steve is baffled at Danny's question. They're just watching TV together, and Steve, despite his tendency of running towards danger instead of away from it, actually didn't get injured recently.
"Did what hurt?"
Danny smiles. "When you fell from heaven."
Steve shakes his head at his boyfriend's terrible flirting. "That was really bad. And you know we're together now, right? You don't have to use pickup lines on me."
Danny shrugs. "It's good to keep the romance alive."
Steve chuckles and leans in to kiss Danny's upturned lips. Steve didn't fall from heaven. He's there right now.
Heaven and Hell
Fandom: Angel the series, set during early season 5, mentions of some concepts from 3.07 (Offspring)
Pairing/Characters: Angel/Cordelia, Connor
Angel, dressed in plaid swim trunks, watches his five-year-old son splash in the ocean. Cordelia lies on a beach towel in a bikini, working on her summer tan. It's hard to tell what warms him more, the bright sunshine or Cordelia's smile. She blows an air kiss at him, and it makes his human heart race.
A beeping noise pulls Angel from his dream.
Angel wakes up to Egyptian cotton sheets, to a world where Cordelia is in a coma, Connor doesn't know him, and he's still a vampire.
Angel wishes he could stay in his heaven a little longer.
Heaven is a Place on Earth with You
Fandom: Friends, set in an alternate season 10 with no breakup, callback to 8.13 (TOW Chandler Takes a Bath)
Pairing: Joey/Rachel
This is Joey's heaven.
Rachel's hand tangled with his whenever they walk down the street, Rachel leaning against his shoulder when they sit on a couch, Rachel and him reading stories to Emma, Rachel kissing him hello and goodbye, Rachel falling asleep in his arms every night.
Rachel.
She emerges from their bedroom, clad in pajamas, hair mussed from sleep and Joey's hands. Joey feels adoration fill his heart without the pangs of guilt he felt two years ago.
"Morning, sweetie."
"I love you." Joey gets to say that now.
Rachel walks over and kisses him.
"I love you, too."

In Which Steve is the Abominable Snowman and Danny is a Christmas Elf
Fandom: Hawaii Five-0 (2010)
Pairing: Steve/Danny
Danny had woken up unexpectedly early this morning, so he decided to finish putting his ornaments on the Christmas tree. Steve had finished putting on his ornaments last night and was currently taking his morning swim. Now, Danny just needed to put the star on top to finish decorating.
Danny opened the box for the tree topper and took it out. He placed the box next to the Rubbermaid tub of ornaments and returned to the tree.
Danny stretched, standing on his tiptoes, but he was far away from the top of the tree. Sometimes, being only 5′5″ really, really sucked. Danny groaned. *Where the hell did I put my step stool?
He was so frustrated by his predicament that he didn’t notice Steve entering the house until he was right behind him. Steve plucked the star out of Danny’s hand and merely raised his arm, easily putting it on the top of the tree. It was so unfair.
Steve pecked Danny’s forehead. “There you go, Danno.”
Danny grimaced and geared up for an epic rant. “Do you really have to be so smug about this?”
Steve shrugged, smugly in Danny’s opinion. “I wasn’t being smug. I just thought I would help you out.” Steve grinned. “Besides, you looked pretty adorable stretching to reach the top of the tree like that.”
In Danny’s grumpy mood, he didn’t particularly like being called “adorable.” “I’m not ‘adorable,’ Steven. Grown men aren’t adorable.”
“Well, you are. You’re sexy as hell, too. Is that better?”
“Much.” Danny stretched up to kiss him firmly, exerting a little more aggression and dominance than he typically would. He needed to feel more control after the hit to his dignity. Steve’s unfocused gaze after the kiss showed that the plan had worked. It was now his turn to feel smug.
Danny turned around to head off to the kitchen. “Come on, let’s get some breakfast.” Danny heard Steve’s footsteps eagerly trailing after him and grinned to himself. Danny was tall enough to kiss Steve and make him feel overwhelmed, so he wasn’t too short for what really mattered.
The One with the Burned Christmas Cookies
Fandom: Friends, set in an alternate version of season 10 where Joey and Rachel never broke up
Pairing: Joey/Rachel
Rachel took the cookies out of the oven and sighed when she saw that most of them were black rather than golden brown. Her baking endeavors had been doomed to failure.
Rachel had attempted to bake Christmas cookies today. Attempted being the key word.
The first time, Rachel had accidentally left out an important ingredient. The second batch had stuck to the baking sheet, and Rachel had to scrape them off with a spatula. Rachel thought she had been more careful this time, but apparently she must have left them in the oven too long, because they were burned to a crisp and resembled hunks of coal. Ho ho ho, happy holidays to all.
Joey moved next to her and picked up a cookie that was half-burned, eating the portion that wasn’t black. “You know, these are actually pretty good if you eat the parts that aren’t burned.”
Rachel stared at her boyfriend, who was munching on the cookie like it was delicious. He was either a phenomenal actor, or he actually enjoyed her poor cooking. Rachel couldn’t tell which.
“Ugh, I give up. I guess you’re not getting Christmas cookies from me this year. At least none of them were as bad as that trifle I made that one Thanksgiving.” God, Rachel had been so stupid. She had actually thought beef sautéed with peas and onions was a layer in a dessert because the pages from the shepherd’s pie recipe and the trifle recipe had gotten stuck together. In her defense, English people often put weird stuff in their food.
“Hey, that trifle was yummy, and I liked it!” Joey was pointing his index finger in the air, emphatic about Rachel’s trifle disaster. “The jam was good, the custard was good, and the beef was good! I don’t get why other people were acting like it was gross.”
Rachel laughed. Joey could always cheer her up and make her feel better, no matter what. “I guess I’ll leave the cooking to someone else.”
Joey nodded in agreement. “We live across the hall from Monica and Chandler. We’ll go visit them later. I bet she’ll make us some cookies.”
Monica was an excellent cook, and anything she would make would be better than whatever Rachel could produce, even if she got the recipe right. “You’re right.”
Joey grabbed her hand. “Come on, let’s go watch some TV. We’re both good at that.”
Rachel smiled, curling up on Joey’s lap in the recliner, and they watched a Christmas special together. She felt so comfortable with Joey. With him, she didn’t have to be good at everything. He loved her, burned cookies and all. She snuggled into his embrace and looked forward to eating Monica’s cookies later.
Nice! You keep rocking it!
