My old potato desktop used to be able to run a server just fine, but my dad got a new router (and not a good one either) and installed some security measures that he can't figure out how to work around. It's ok, though. MC Pro-Hosting is cheap enough to use.
Ahh I see, that's the worst thing about this project, Networking outside your network. The hardware out there is so varied and the systems that run them so different, then it's hard to make a one guide to rule them all on setting up your server with those outside your network.
