After Trump Tweets Criticism, House GOP Drops Weakening Of House Ethics Office
After a storm of criticism, including from President-elect Trump, House Republicans have reversed themselves, and restored the current rules of the Office of Congressional ethics, NPR's Susan Davis confirms. In a surprise action Monday night, before the new Congress was sworn in, the GOP members had voted to significantly weaken the office.

Wow, I think it and it happens!
Could have done without laying the credit at Trump's Twitter page, though.

Hahaha. Your powers of prophecy. Can they be loaned?
So.... Are you gonna have presidential addresses on Twitter now?
I think they said that press releases will go straight to his twitter rather than via the "corrupt" press >.<
(((Facepalm)))
I recall that during the last Bush era, the US press was heavily (rightly) criticised for simply reprinting, verbatim, the government's PR, sans reflection. Especially where Iraq was concerned. Now they are to be circumvented because they likely won't? Argh...
I have the feeling Trump thinks his image and PR in office can be as carefully edited and confected as it is for his television projects. But he doesn't own it anymore. Tough lesson awaits.
Seriously, media. Could it have been the outraged phone calls congressional offices have been getting all day? Maybe?
