bringing back the tarot!
edit: back! car is a write-off, i'm mostly physically okay, looks like i'll be up late tonight.
comment on this post with a question or just "general", i'll roll dice to determine which spread unless you have a specific request for one.
something about getting cards pulled is soothing for me, even if the question is just something frivolous or silly. so i want to put this out on offer for anyone who might find it comforting or a needed distraction.

What kind of pie should I get? Pumpkin, Dutch Apple, or Rhubarb?
sorry for the delay-- gotta run spouse out to the grocery real quick, will get back to this as soon as i'm back. a nifty question!
i pulled a card for things to consider about each one.
for the pumpkin pie, i pulled vulture and one-ring circus. if you do get it, is it something that will stand alone well? be sure to check the best-before date, as well.
for the dutch apple pie, i pulled the moon and bone collector. is there some kind of nostalgia you have with apple pie? whether or not you do, these cards suggest that the reality in the pie you actually get this time may be disappointing.
for the rhubarb pie, i pulled three of wands and gentle gardener. these recommend that if you plan on sharing the pie, you should check in how others feel about it and include that in your decision. if you like less sweet rhubarb pie but someone else who might eat it has delicate tastebuds, something a little gentler might be more enjoyable to share.
I am so sorry you got hit - I hope you are okay!!! <3
I love it when you do tarot! Let me think of a question...
I'm planning a move. Do I wait patiently for every detail to line up - or do I just grab life by the horns and go?
i'm...as okay as i can be. having this here actually helps; it's keeping me from shutting down.
okay. so i'm gonna pull a set of cards each for things to consider and a set of cards each for potential outcomes. hopefully what i pull will be relevant and/or useful.
for waiting patiently, i pulled nine of cups and intention as advice for consideration. do you have plans to make the most of it and use your time to the fullest if you wait? part of your impatience may be difficulty seeing opportunities in front of you, because you're anticipating the new chapter of your life that'll open post-move.
as a potential outcome for waiting patiently, i pulled four of pentacles and strength. another benefit to patience might be a chance to rest and regroup, and pull yourself together.
for matters for consideration as regards to taking life by the horns, i pilled the high priest and rock bottom. are you feeling closed-in by dogmatic structures, traditionalist or conservative environment, or otherwise an authority that you might not trust to look after your needs? if so, that's legitimate motivation.
and for a potential outcome for taking life by the horns, i pulled king of pentacles and magical map shifter. the shape of your life is on the verge of changing-- down one path is inner strength, and down the other is adventure. both come with their own benefits and difficulties.
so overall, this comes down to what you need the most at this time: is it rest and increased endurance? is it a grandly shifting world with new trials and expectations? once you know what you need most, you'll know what the right choice for you personally is.
i hope that helps!
This is perfect! And oh my, so wonderfully accurate! :)
Interestingly, I feel incredibly closed in by a traditional environment right now!
And I know that the path I seek will be adventurous. I'm glad to find it could provide inner strength!
I think I'm going to just go for it :)
These readings are so awesome and fun!
Oh no! I hope you and your vehicle are OK. :(
vehicle tentatively declared a write-off, will receive confirmation or denial sometime tomorrow. i'm physically okay and mentally/emotionally winding down.
thank you. i appreciate being checked in with.
Oh! Are you ok?! Gah, that sounds frightening.
Here's my question if you have the time/inclination: I need a new creative project but I've hit a wall. Where is my next inspiration coming from?
i'm a bit shaken, still processing, with a lot of phone calls to make tomorrow-- but i'm as physically fine as i can be, and that's nothing to sneeze at.
for your question i pulled three potential sources of inspiration!
the first potential source of inspiration i pulled is the queen of swords and magical map shifter. court cards can refer to specific people in your life. the queen of swords in particular is an avid collector of stories, sharp-witted, sometimes a little more harsh and blunt than she means to be. if you have someone like that in your life, spending some time with that person might change the game altogether when it comes to your inspiration.
the second is king of pentacles and golden palace reversed. this suggests going outside of your comfort zone and seeking adventure, at least in your imagination. are the settings you're considering too idyllic? what are some ways that you can add human complications and scars to a beautiful world? is there a lack of conflict or intent in your ideas? touches of mellowed maturity might also be timely in your future work.
the third one i pulled is the fool and follow the leader. in the silicon dawn deck, there are actually multiple variants on the fool-- the one i pulled is the winter fool, the one who has tumbled into new adventure more than once, and has learned to make a show of the fall. it might be time to return to one of your ideas from when you were younger and more foolish, and see what you can bring to it with your experience as you are now. you might have to take a risk, or try something without others to lead you, but what comes from your heart and your experience is meaningful and will resonate with others.
overall, the face cards i pulled for this suggests experience, a touch of age, a touch of scars and a rich and slightly bittersweet focus. i'm not sure what your avenue of creative expression is, but these are all things that can breathe new life into what you create-- in fact, they suggest that you're about to discover a whole new appreciation for nuance, facets, and complexity in what you make.
i hope that's relevant and/or useful!
I'm glad you're ok--that's the most important thing. I'm sorry you have to deal with all the insurance tedium and repair stuff to follow, though. We went through that this summer and it was not fun.
This reading is interesting and frustrating. There are things here that were already on my mind (revisiting old ideas, dealing with complication) and that I was actively avoiding. I had my fingers crossed you'd be like, "Never mind all that--here's a new and easier way!" Which of course is not possible, but you know, live in hope. Ha.
Thanks for doing this. It was definitely useful.
general for me please!
this is cool, thank you :)
i enjoy doing these-- thanks for participating!
i did my usual go-to spread, the road. the first set of cards i pulled that are intended to sum up your current life path in general were four of swords and commitment.
these suggest that there's something in your life that you're determined to lay down arms and make peace with. that's always a difficult goal to set and pursue, and one worth being proud of, if that's the case.
for the second set, an ongoing challenge with regards to that, i pulled nine of wands and coming to life. do you sometimes feel like you can only spectate patiently as you try to grow this peace in your life? do you ever struggle with the sensation like you don't have someone to truly meaningfully share it with? if so, those struggles deserve acknowledgement.
the third set is something that might stop you cold. i pulled vulture and gentle gardener. perhaps you're struggling not to give in to schadenfreude at times that you wouldn't forgive yourself for doing so, or find yourself feeling pushy about someone else's growth as a person. these could also denote being TOO gentle-hearted to put in a good "i told you so" where needed.
the fourth set is advice on overcoming that previous barrier. for that i pulled history and bone collector. sticking to your word is important. work on being the kind of person who would treat your past self with as much care and compassion as that younger, less matured version of you would deserve. an approach of gentle, caring wisdom to the gaffes, misunderstandings, upsets and difficulties you had when you were younger will transfer over to how you resolve conflicts with others.
finally, as a likely end destination for this goal and course, i pulled ace of wands and into the unknown. these say that if the rest of the cards are relevant, and if you achieve the peace you're seeking, it's going to springboard your creativity and passion in ways you'd have never anticipated.
hope this is useful!
Should I keep searching for new work?
pulling a potential for if you do, a potential for if you don't, and advice on why one might be better than the other.
for "do", i pulled eight of swords and coming to life. do you feel a need for radical change in your life? is there something new growing where you're curious to see where it will lead? this suggests that you might put in an overkill amount of effort for uncertain results. if that's what you feel you need, then it might be worth considering.
for advice for if you do, i pulled ten of wands and follow the leader. this recommends blazing your own path, and suggests that while focused on new work, you might find yourself a spectator to other peoples' tragedies. if so, it recommends keeping focus on what you're doing, so that you can be there to help others pick up the pieces, even if you couldn't make a difference while it was happening.
for "don't", i pulled the high priest and wizard of awareness. is your current situation with regards to work or finances one where you feel painfully hyper-alert regarding rules and traditions? are you subject to someone more traditional or conservative because of it, or finding yourself having to contend with portraying a more traditional image than is true to yourself?
for advice on if you don't, i pulled the sun and field of dreams. these recommend focus on cultivating your joys outside of the realms of secular work and money. whatever your motivation for asking this question, clearly you've got a conflict in your head, but no matter what you choose, you need to remember to stay connected to your core values and joys in some way.
it's a tricky decision that only you can make, and i'm not sure if what i pulled is relevant or helpful. but i'm strongly wishing you the best, because it's a difficult question to contend with sometimes, and you deserve to find the answer that'll be easiest for you to live with going forward.
I would say hyper aware of rules fits. My boss is a micromanager. Trying to expand my world outside of work is something I've already tried to start doing since starting at my current job, possibly because it was clear that I wasn't going to get any fulfillment from it, unlike the last place.
Overkill amount of effort for uncertain results doesn't sound like my kind of gamble, though...
micromanagers mess with me the worst out of anything. sending my sympathies for that sucky situation.
overall, if a good opportunity turns up, there's ways to minimize the risks-- but if the bills are paid and you can tolerate where you're at, it might just wear you down more if you search desperately as opposed to just keeping an eye out.
i wish you well in this because...it's a tough thing to be considering.
I'll go for a general😁
okay! you get my favorite go-to spread. i tried something different than usual with the shuffling, but hopefully the results are indistinguishable.
to sum up your current life road in general, i pulled nine of swords and strength. are you struggling with some aspect of necessary cruelty? are you learning to put your foot down when the situation calls for it? or are you learning the strength to bear criticism that stings, but ultimately will heal and benefit you?
for an ongoing struggle related to that, i pulled the fool and spirit of place. maybe you're newly fumbling through an environment or situation where you feel like you could belong. you'll settle in time, but for now, it might be a little overwhelming and new.
for something that could stop this personal growth cold, i pulled history and protecting treasure. are you having trouble sticking to your word? feeling run-down and defensive? there's no shame in these very human struggles.
as a road opener, something that will help you through that difficulty of keeping your heart safe and strong and holding up your obligations, i pulled nine of cups and education. in this deck, nine of cups is about a playful and sensual joy that delights in sharing itself. the advice here is to re-learn how to play.
finally, for the end destination of this particular path, i pulled eight of wands and coming apart. it suggests that if you keep your recreation in balance to re-fuel yourself emotionally, even though outside tragedies and difficulties may make life hard, you can still weather them and even find enjoyment while waiting out the storms.
Feels appropriate. Excellent thoughts.
Thank you.
