Moonbeam Cafe: for the night owls. We are not afraid of the dark. Pour a drink and stay a while.
Do you like music playing during dinner?
I tend to like music but sometimes worry it's surpressing conversation. What do you guys think?

Subtle music. Not too loud.
You a jazz person?
I am!
@zhemao might have dinnertime jazz suggestions!
I like Jazz sometimes
I was always more of a punk rocker growing up. Was never a jazz guy. Now I appreciate it in the right situation. And I think dinner might just be that situation.
I think so too
There is never a wrong situation for jazz.
And there are plenty of jazz songs that are just as rowdy and energetic as punk rock (look up Hiromi Uehara).
As for what kind of jazz to play at dinnertime, can't go wrong with early Miles Davis: Birth of the Cool, Walkin', Workin', Relaxin', Cookin', Round About Midnight, Milestones, Miles Ahead, Kind of Blue, or Someday My Prince Will Come.
I love it :)
Never a wrong situation!
I'll give them a try! Thanks.
I think it can even stimulate conversation
Needs the fourth option: "I usually eat dinner by myself because I'm a lonely bachelor, so it doesn't matter if there's music or not."
Aww sorry man. Glad you're here with us!
Nah, it's OK, I don't really mind it that much. I do eat out with friends from time to time.
