I took my son to see Get Out and omg you have to see it. I have never tried so hard to back away from people on screen in my life. We were both cringing and pushing back as far as we could lol. There are very few gross parts. It's mostly about human nature. I can't think of anything else exactly like it. It has 100% on Rotten Tomatoes and is one of only 5 or 6 horrors that do and the only one to have over 100 reviews and remain at 100%. I generally assume a good review on Rotten Tomatoes means boobs will be shown but this is different. Trust me.

Tomorrow I'm going to the flea market with an old friend and hoping to find cute chairs or something : )

Fella and I want very much to see that one! Good to know!

@Jessica totally just read your message to my partner and he is super pumped for this film. He's been monitoring the reviews on it and we've both been really surprised with them. Like you said. /Horror doesn't get much love on those sites.

Yeah, I've never seen a horror movie that takes on racism as bluntly and without trying to smooth it over and make it palatable. It was uncomfortable and scary and funny and holy shit. So everything you should have in a horror film. I did have one complaint (I won't share it) and I told my son and he was like "Mom. That's the only thing? Who cares?" And, yeah, if you are well versed in film history you might get a bit twitchy at one scene but only the one. There are some that pay homage to others but in ways that are so new and repurposed that it's really wonderful to see.

I think I can handle that!

Catching up on TV in bits and pieces. I should be writing.

I need to write stuff and book my next trip this weekend.

Tomorrow I have to get a haircut for my Monday interview. Sunday we are going to a friend's house for a Jean Claude Van Damme marathon. And taking the dogs.

      Sounds like a good weekend!

Tonight: drinking beer and watching retro TV (with commercials for added nostalgia).

Partner's Mom said we sound like old people. She's right. We keep telling her we'd fit in great in one of those 55+ complexes.
