How do you feel at a burlesque show?

So like, for you allosexuals out there, when you go to a burlesque show, is the point to be turned on? Does watching the performances get you hot and bothered? Is this actually a sexy thing?
Or is it more like watching any sort of dancing and the nakedness is incidental?
Every burlesque show I've been to has been in the kind of environment with a high ratio of queerness, with a high likelihood of having male performers, too. I would think that's not the average experience, but maybe it is? Maybe that's who does those sorts of shows these days?

Burlesque has always been more for entertainment than sexual gratification in my experience. The performers are always super talented and everyone is having so much fun. Seemed to me that the bulk of the audience was just there for some fabulously saucy entertainment.
I might be odd though...
Being Canadian also means that I have access to fully nude exotic dance clubs if so desired though... So maybe we're just desensitized? teehee! 💛
I'm not allosexual but I always wanted to go to a strip club for my birthday. There's not many that are queer friendly that I know of, and didn't want to get myself into a situation with cismen, so I picked out a burlesque place instead. I really enjoyed the comfort level of both the performers and audience. It seemed everyone was there for entertainment and there was a lot of respect for the performers and there was no heckling or catcalling for either the male or female performers. I would definitely go again if I could get a group together.
The one I was just at, they specifically said that they encourage cheering, clapping, and hearing what you like, so the whooping from the audience was supposed to be part of the experience.
