Amazon's filing reveals several uses for the warehouse blimp. One example is at a football match where customers may want certain items such as food or merchandise. Ahead of the game, the AFC could stock up on items and deploy these during the game with drones when they are ordered.

Companies often patent ideas without being sure that they will implement them. I doubt that we'll see airborne FCs anytime soon. It doesn't seem very practical to me.

I think they still have some legal hurdles to clear, but I'd like a robot to bring me a book once in my life. That would be awesome.
But after that I'd want this nonsense to stop as those bastards are noisy and privacy issues abound. I assume cargo carrying ones are noisier than the ones that zoom by me when I am hiking.
Bah that sounds aggravating. The only thing a drone is good for is terrorizing my cats. 💛
