One Hundred Years Of Men Taking Off Their Shirts
When Sandow the Magnificent went backstage after a show in Washington, DC, the assembled group of senator's wives and daughters began to tremble. Throughout his 1896 "exhibition" - a public affair, attended by hundreds, during which Sandow had displayed his formidable musculature through a series of poses and feats of strength - they'd kept their faces behind veils.
I'm honestly not sure where to put this, but I found it fascinating and thought I'd share. It's an interesting take on sexuality, objectification and media impact. The photos aren't bad either. ;)

Okay, yeah, the pictures. But aside from that it really is good. I think Valentino was the most interesting for me because I hadn't put him in the context of his time. Super interesting!
