Just saw xXx: The Return of Xander Cage

It's a lot of fun with a lot of problems. Don't watch it with your brain on and you could find it quite entertaining. [/Rating 3/5]

Personally, I loved the film. It was 100% what it tried to be and was a perfect mix of throw-back to the original and incorporation of Vin Diesel's strengths as the lead in an ensemble action/comedy. The only characters I felt went underused were the Scottish vehicular expert, the shaved-head white guy, and Tony Jaa; the only part of the film I thought was poorly done was the original heist scene when the guy on the motorcycle tries to take down the baddies, if only because it seemed to imply it was Xander Cage under the helmet and then wasn't.
Not really disagreeing with your review, just felt I'd point out that I think "a lot of problems" is a bit of an overstatement.
Nah, there were a lot of problems, problems with plot and story, problems with some of the casting and stereotypes etc. that would be unacceptable in other films. But they weren't show stoppers to an enjoyable movie, which it absolutely was.
I particularly enjoyed the supporting cast, Donnie Yen, Deepika Padukone, and Ruby Rose were all fantastic stand outs.
