We Need to Talk About Cartoon Parents

Disney looks like it is done making movies with the "True love's kiss will save the day" theme. However, it is now consistently making a mark on the "Kids know best while mom and dad are wrong" message.

I mean...I don't exactly see the problem. It's a conflict that can hit close to home for kids since they generally have parents saying not to do something. And we'd get into a different genre if they weren't vindicated...
I'm sure if I tried, I could think of a children's movie in this trope with the character not being vindicated.
Actually, I think Inside Out is a decent one to show the character not being vindicated by disobeying the parents.
They're fantasies - the kid is the protagonist and hero. Teach kids to be confident and have dreams, but that your parents are there to guide you and help you grow up.
When it's the "parents are idiots and petulant teen knows best" - that's annoying.
