This felt like classic, standard MST3K for me. In my memory the show was always... vaguely amusing most of the time and every once in awhile astoundingly funny.
I think this ep was the former.
If it's any consolation, I think the next episode is hilarious.
I just felt that they missed a very obvious riff early on.
Other than that, I enjoyed it, and I felt for Max when Kinga refused to refer to him as "TV's Son of TV's Frank." Poor guy.
I loved the kaiju rap and Crow running to catch slime in a barrel for dinner. I still haven't gone far enough in the series to find out what exactly Gypsy dropped off in the theater, though.
The rap was actually quite good. The highlight of the episode, I think.
Are we doing watch parties?
We certainly could. I think Joel mentioned making a schedule for people who wanted to gather together and watch one episode a week together like the old days.
Coordinating with a fandom-wide schedule would be cool.
Rabb.it makes it easy to share a Netflix show. I think it would be more fun than watching them by myself.
Sounds good. Unfortunately, I've never heard of the site before, as I don't really do social media.
I'm not a big fan of Jonah Ray but he kinda works in this context!
I like this episode, even though it isn't the funniest. I like how they keep the format of breaks, even though they don't need commercial breaks for this. I like how Tom Servo can fly now.
