Playoff games always ratchet up in intensity and physicality. It bugs me that refs allow more shoving in the playoffs, and most people seem to be ok with the fact that rules change (or are enforced less) when competition is most important. I'm not sure either of these injuries were related to officiating/hard fouls, but allowing the same contact as regular-season games wouldn't hurt

To your point, both seem like fluke accidents.
But I think you're right that there's more adrenaline pumping and more physical hits, which creates the situation for more fluke accidents.
Looks like Blake Griffin is done for the playoffs too. Poor Clippers seem done.
